These 18 foods will speed up your metabolism, fill you up, and lower your body fat percentage.

If you want to lose weight, you still have to eat, the following twenty foods can help rev up your metabolism, fill you up and lower your body fat.

  1. Yogurt: Yogurt is high in protein, which helps you stay full longer. The calcium also helps prevent your body from storing fat.
  2. Soup: People who eat a low-calorie broth based soup before a meal consume 20% less calories than those who don't.
  3. Grapefruit: In a study done in the Journal of Medicinal Food, obese people trying to lose weight, and ate half a grapefruit a day (With a healthy diet) for twelve days lost an average of 3 1/2 pounds.
  4. Beans: Beans are low calorie and are packed with fiber and protein. They help you maintain a healthy weight by stabilizing blood sugar levels.

  6. Apples: A study published in Nutrition, found that consuming an apple a day improves blood sugar levels, which help stabilize hormones that influence appetite and satiety.
  7. Broccoli: Broccoli and other cruciferous foods like cauliflower, and cabbage have tons of fiber and low density, meaning you can eat a lot for only a few calories.
  8. Oatmeal: Full of fiber, oatmeal digests slowly, and keeps you satisfied until the next meal. v Coffee: Your cup of coffee will help you tackle more intense workouts, which in turn will burn off more calories. Coffee may also lower your risk of Parkinson and some cancers. Skip the heavy laden coffee drinks with whipped cream, sugar or chocolate.

They stayed full longer and had more energy throughout the day. v Salmon: Salmon's omega-3 fatty acid reduces inflammation, and in turn keeps your weight down. Recent studies show that inflammation can interfere with how your body responds to leptin, a hormone that regulates appetite.
