I've lost 30 pounds since Christmas 2007. It's so incredibly easy, if you put your mind to it.
Forget any miracle diet, pill, machine, DVD, etc. None of that stuff works if your mind is not willing.
I had gained weight over 8 years due to some surgery, recuperation and life in general.
Here's my "could've had a v-8 moment"
How do people gain weight - eat too much and no exercise
How do people loose weight - eat less and exercise
How Did I Do It?
- eat smaller meals on dessert plates, rather than dinner plates (less food!!)
- only eat when hungry
- no eating after 8 pm
- eat more in the morning and less at night
- get off your *** and move, not to the refrigerator, but go outside, walk, ride a bike, work in the garden, play with your kids - anything just move
- No more soft drinks - they are full of sugar
- it's ok to splurge once in a while, but don't over do it
Keep These Tips in the Back of Your Mind
- If you crave something sweet, drink a small glass of orange juice, or better yet - grapefruit juice
- Don't sit on the couch for more than 15 minutes at a time - get up during each commercial break, do a sit up, let lift, run around your house (I prefer chasing my cats - they just love the attention)
- Don't buy expensive weights, machines, etc. Use what's in your house.
- I recently bought a hula-hoop - no kidding, it's great work for your mid-section.
- Carry a one gallon jug of water in each hand and go up and down the steps. Do arm curls and shoulder raises. My arms have definition now - go figure!
- Suck in your stomach every time you bend over to get the laundry out of the dryer, pick up your kids clothes, while you are sitting at a stop light. Every bit helps.
