Great tips for a healthy diet. |
- Drink lots of water. Place a 1.5 litter bottle of water at your work desk and try to finish it all by home time.
- Eat five portions of fruit and vegetables every day.
- Never skip breakfast.
- Keep a supply of healthy snacks at hand (fresh and dried fruit, rice cakes, low-fat fruit yogurts are some ideas).
- Remove all visible fat from food before you cook it - take the skin off chicken and trim the white fat off any meat.
- Limit stimulants such as caffeine, alcohol and refined sugar.
- Packed your own lunch or choose lighter meals during lunch, like soups or salads.
- Take your time. Don't cut out food groups all together, such as crabs, in a bid to lose weight quickly - your body needs balance.
- Only eat the things you find tasty. Don't force yourself to eat things just because they're good for you!
