Curbing Those Crazy Cravings

Dieting is primarily composed of four parts; will power, exercise, portion sizes and food choices.

Everyone who has dieted to lose weight knows that choosing low fat and low calorie foods are important for any weight loss regimen. Proper food choices are essential to providing the balanced minerals, amino acids, vitamins and other nutrients vital to our health. Choose natural unprocessed foods over processed foods. Processed foods do not provide as many nutrients and have higher fat/calorie content.

Exercise does help your body metabolize foods faster and break down fat. Exercise is also important for general health and burning excess calories.

Portion sizes should be small. Larger portions lead to weight gain and are unhealthy. The biggest problem in dieting for weight loss is will power. Many people fail at dieting no matter what they do because of a lack of will power. Appetite suppressants cannot inhibit a dieter from their psychological dependence on food. Food is sometimes used to self treat anxiety or loneliness.

To curb cravings for food eat but eat non-processed foods like salads, vegetables, dairy products that are low fat and fruit. The best combination for burning fat, reducing cravings to eat while dieting are bananas, low fat milk and hard boiled eggs. Eat a balanced diet, consult your physician before exercising and when you have a craving to eat, feed it with natural foods only. Replace regular sugar with one of the many sugar free sweeteners on the market today.
