Lose Weight Fast! Quick and Simple Weight Loss! Drop Three Dress Sizes Right Away!
Does this sound familiar to you? I have had so many “quick and easy” weight loss plans come through my e-mail box it isn't even funny.
Usually whoever is sending it out, wants you to send them money so they can send you an information package about a diet plan or magic pill that will probably have to pay for again.
Although there are some excellent diet plans out there, and apparently some good pills (I hear some have very undesirable side effects), there is no quick, easy fix that will be healthy and lasting.
I have been a yoyo dieter for most of my life - I love food but dislike carrying that extra weight around, it is tiring. I tried many different methods to lose weight, and sometimes I did, but it always came back with more. Cabbage soup (too gassy), grapefruit (eeyuk), the Atkins diet (gave me headaches), the list goes on and on.
It has been a journey of trial and error, unhealthy weight loss and gain but, fortunately, I managed to finally lose the weight, keep it off and discovered some basic truths about “dieting”. I would like to give you the benefit of my experience and save you some of the grief I put myself through.
Fad Diets Don't Work
If you want to lose weight in a healthy manner, permanently you have to change the way you eat, permanently. Going on a diet, losing the weight and then going back to the way you were eating will only help you to regain and regret. It is a lifestyle change, not easy but doable and it is way more lasting.
Drink a Lot of Water
Your body is made of approximately 50% water. You need to keep that replenished constantly throughout the day, (eight glasses/ 64 oz/ two litres) it keeps you hydrated and staves off hunger. Sometimes thirst can be mistaken for hunger.
Faster Isn't Always Better
Quick weight loss is unhealthy, first of all, you end up hungry and then you binge on junk. Second, it seems to me, it just comes back a lot faster. Slow and steady wins the race, it gives the body time to get used to the loss and you get the hang of changing your eating habits over time.
Smaller Meals, More Veggies
Try to incorporate more fruit and vegetable portions into all meals (five to ten per day). A portion should equal about the size of your fist. Five or six small meals per day instead of three big ones also helps to keep hunger from creeping up.
Exercise, Exercise, Exercise
One of the most important things you can do for your body is move yourself. Get that body off the couch, and get it out the door. Walking is the easiest and most versatile exercise there is - and it is free. Of course there are many ways to get your blood pumping and your waistline smaller, to each his own.
There is so much information regarding weight loss these days, some good and some not so good I hope I have helped to enlighten.
