Round One
In October of 2007 I decided to begin yet another fat fight with myself. I was getting tired of buying bigger and bigger clothes. I was told Id feel better if I was smaller. I felt fine, as it was, but still thought Id diet till Christmas. Set a deadline and get started after all I need to lose over a hundred pounds.
Round Two
I asked my other half if he could either starve or fend for himself for a couple of months as I intended to limit my food intake. He was sure I could not do it but said it was fine with him. It was go-for-it time.
Round Three
The easiest way for me to lose this fat was to eat frozen diet meals. From someplace in my thinner past I remembered a diet that consisted of two diet meals and two apples a day. I knew that worked so thought Id try it again.
Round Four
Off to the store I went. Bought a freezer full of diet meals and a bunch of apples. Discovered I still dont like apples but the diet meals are great. Tried everything I could think of to learn to like apples. It did not work.
Round Five
Someone told me about energy bars. I decided to eat those instead of apples but to stick with the two diet meals. After all I only had to do it for three months.
Round Six
Wow! The weight is coming off. Im eating every two hours. Im never hungry. This is great. I can live with this sort of diet but the energy bars are not exactly what I want. I was in a health food store when I discovered kids energy bars. Im not a kid. Im 70 years old. Decided to try them anyway. Yum yum.
Round Seven
I need smaller clothes. Life is great. The sun is coming out. Who says old women cant lose weight?
Round Eight
It is now the middle of February and the fight is still going strong. Ive decided to extend this until at least mid May. Ive lost at least thirty pounds and am heading toward that forty pound mark. Talk to your doctor and give this way of living and eating a try. Im sure it could work for you.
Round Nine
The bell has not dinged for this round yet but I intend to win this fight!
