Cut out the Soda

If you cut out one can of soda a day over a year, you can lose around 15lb! Water is definitely the smart choice when you are thirsty. Sure Diet Soda doesn't have the calories, but its full of nasty artificial colours, preservatives and sweeteners - all things that really have no place in a healthy diet. If you need a bit of variety try herbal teas - they come in all kinds of great flavours and some even have additional benefits for your health and wellbeing.

Be More Active

30 minutes of exercise a day will really help you shed those extra pounds. And you don't have to join a gym to be active. And you don't have to do your 30 minutes all at once. Try taking the stairs instead of the lift, parking a block away from where you need to go and walking the rest of the way, release your inner child and play with your kids at the park, go dancing . . . See exercise can be fun!!

Eat Your Main Meal at Lunch

Try moving your main meal to the middle of the day. That way you are consuming the bulk of your daily calories during the day when you are active, rather than in the evening as you are winding down and being more sedentary.

Eat Breakfast

It really is the most important meal of the day! People who skip breakfast tend to make up for it by eating more calorie laden snacks throughout the day. A good breakfast should get you through to lunch time without those mid-morning cravings - and you'll be better able to concentrate and be more productive as well!

Get Support

Find yourself a support person or two to cheer you on. Someone to go walking with, to celebrate your weight loss achievements with, to remind you how far you've come and to encourage you not to give up. Losing weight much easier when you have your own personal cheering squad!
