In the ancient days of "folk magic", it was sometimes so hard to get food, or people had to work so hard that there were few overweight people. Very few. It wasn't until the early 20th century and the advent of industrialization that people started getting plumper, then fatter, then obese.
During the early 20th century, more and more gypsies or nature witches were approached to assist in creating potions or programs to help their "wealthier" neighbors and clients lose weight.
First rule of folk magic is that all has to be natural and what you find out in the woods. So it goes that people who are wanting to lose weight need to focus only on what comes out of the ground or rivers. Packaged food is the biggest culprit of obesity in American society and needs to be avoided at all costs if you want to lose weight, along with fast foods and eating out.
Cooking at home and cooking everything fresh is the real magic. Imagine yourself as a beautiful witch stirring a cauldron of wonderful meals to help you lose weight. If you are going to have a pizza, make it from scratch, if you are going to have a hamburger, make it from scratch, even bread if that is possible. And if you don't have a lot of time for that, think CROCK POT, you can whip up a lot of entrees with that to fill you up and keep you from gaining so much weight.
Drinking lemon juice mixed with a little honey helps in losing weight. Regular intake of carrot or carrot juice helps in reducing weight.Drinking green tea also helps in controlling weight gain. Avoid the junk foods that have no nutritional value. Avoid very sweet, salty or oily food especially at night. Reduce calorie dense foods, they are the most likely source of weight gain.
As with all weight loss approaches there are no quick fixes. But it can be done when you focus on just eating anything that comes from the ground, less meat and less cheese or dairy products. The magical properties of natural foods are just as powerful today as they were 1000 years ago. Eating more fruit like grapefruit every day, not only naturally reduces your appetite it is a great source of vitamin C and fiber.
Along with concentrating on your shift in food choices, you should also adopt a morning ritual to help you through the day. Do this before breakfast (please do NOT skip breakfast) even if it's just a piece of fruit it can jump start your metabolism.
Every morning light a white candle close to a mirror. The white candle should have the number of pounds you want to lose carved into it. While the candle is lit, gaze into the mirror, look at yourself in the eyes and say: I'm at peace with my own feelings. I'm safe where I am. I create my own security. I love and approve of myself. I deserve to be healthy and happy. Say all that three times, then blow out the candle and go about your business for the day. ONLY allowing yourself "earth" food, not space food (in packages). If you feel you have to have that Twinkie, remember what Eckhart Tolle says: The point of power is always in the present moment." (From The Power of NOW).
You have the power to change your mind at any time as long as you live in the moment.
The magic of losing weight is very simple, you just have to remember the two rules of Folk Magic. Always go natural. And BELIEVE that what you are doing right now, is going to manifest your desired goals.
