People are obsessed with food. Some are continually thinking about how to eat better, ways to eat more healthy and what to do to lose weight. For some it's a vicious cycle and they never do reach their goals or, if they do, they cannot maintain them.
One of the easiest ways to lose weight and achieve optimum health is to change the attitude. Weight loss and health are not things to achieve by following a time limited rigid plan. It requires permanent change that you want to live with.
Life is meant to be enjoyed. Who wouldn't get depressed to think one has to eat food he hates for the rest of his life? How likely is anyone to stick to such a regimen?
A change in attitude can open up a whole new world to food. Instead of dreading the day because of what you cannot eat you can look forward to exploring new recipes and new foods to add to your diet. Rather than limiting what you can eat simply eliminate what you should not eat - permanently. This may take some time to fully incorporate. Start by turning down those foods or selecting alternate choices when dining out. For example, consider the following foods no longer an option: deep-fried anything, foods containing trans-fats, and foods containing chemicals. The last item requires that you start to read food labels. You will likely discover that this applies to a tremendous amount of the food in your cupboards.
When I first started on my journey to better health I invested hundreds of hours of time in research and read many, many books. In order to keep track of the information I took copious amounts of notes. Eventually, I had to organize the information on the computer so as not to forget what I was learning. Finally my husband and I put the information together into a book and decided to share the information with others. We created “Nutrition in a Nutshell” to help people on their journey to nutritional education in order to starting living a more healthy lifestyle.
Getting started is the hardest part but you won't get there unless you take the first step.
