I remember my first job back in high school. I worked at the local fast food place. As a high schooler it was a lot of fun. I was able to work with kids my own age, talk about things that we all had in common and was paid for it.
Part of working for this particular place was we received what were called “employee cups”. These cups were about 8 to 10 ounces in size bearing the logo of the company that we worked for.
With these cups you were allowed to drink anything you wanted as much as you wanted so as long as you used this cup. Needless to say we gravitated towards the soft drinks. Coke, Pepsi, RC you name it, we drank it.
I didn't know it then but surely know it now, there is not faster way to weight gain than sucking down countless ounces of soft drinks. They are 100% sugar which is the “bad” carbs. If you are looking to pack on unhealthy weight very quickly drink soft drinks.
If you want to lose some extra pounds you can do so right away by simply dropping the sodas. Now I know from my own experience it is not easy. In fact I recommend that you do it gradually. Here is how I did. First I replaced regular soda with the diet soda. After a week, trust me you will adjust to the taste. Then over time as you adjust to the diet soda you will be amazed as to how you no longer even like the taste of regular soda.
Now once you have adjusted to the diet soda, you can slowly wean yourself off of that by substituting in Crystal Light. I have done this and it tastes better, it's recommended by a lot of nutritionists, and is a lot cheaper.
So if you are looking for an immediate impact on losing some extra pounds, drop the soft drinks. All they do is make your middle soft.
