It did not last long. I already felt the temptations and inconveniences of trialling a high fat diet. It definitely makes going out to work lunches a pretty difficult affair. Despite that I am going to try and stick to my plan, with just a slight adjustment.
As I have been taking advice from another high fat dieter, I decided to just take the slightly easier approach. Instead of doing five days in a row and and indulging myself at the weekend I will opt for a slightly less dramatic solution.
Simply distribute the two carb days a bit more evenly - one on Wednesday, and the other on Saturday (or Sunday if you prefer).
Mid-Week Crisis
Wednesday is a good choice exactly because it is the middle of the work week. This means it is easy to go to the gym to use up those carbohydrates properly (unfortunately my fitness club is closed during the weekend...). Also if you go out often it's nice to squeeze in a "normal" lunch / dinner during the week.
Saturday Nights Out
For my Saturday's are usually movie marathon days. This in turn means that almost definitely I will be eating on the town. Thus having this day as a carb day makes it quite convenient, as most restaurants do not do too well when it comes to catering for high fatters...
The downside I already mentioned is that my gym is closed on Saturdays, so that way of burning up the carbohydrates into muscles is out. However I'm sure there is plenty of other ways I can do some exercise. To start with, the cinema trip involves at least 40 minutes of walking... I guess it is always a start.
Why Not Sunday?
Other people might opt for a Sunday rather than a Saturday, as that is the more traditional "lazy" day. Family dinner, relatives visiting etc. However as I don't really have much of the above. And the Sunday free time is actually good for cooking diet dishes ahead, well at least for Monday. Thus for me Saturday definitely looks like a better option.
