What is Carnitine?

It is a kind of amino acid found in nearly every cells in our body. Carnitine plays a supreme role in energy production. It transports long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria so that they can be burnt to produce energy. It also transports the toxic compounds generated out of this cellular organelle to prevent their accumulation. It also helps reduce blood triglyceride levels by increasing fat utilization and increasing the rate at which the liver uses fat. In addition, it lowers LDL (lover-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels, increases HDL(high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels, and increases the body's tolerance to stress. Carnitine is manufactured naturally in the body through the synthesis of lysine, methionine, iron, and vitamins B6 and C.

What are the benefits of Carnitine?

Laboratory studies have found that carnitine helps reduce the severity of angina attacks and other and cardiovascular problems. It protects high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol. It also protects ischemic heart disease. It helps to oxidize fatty acids and play important role in losing weight. However, people always should control intake dose of L-carnitine. Overdosing may result in diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. Don't foreget that, it should be taken in small doses and in conjunction with a healthy diet.

How to use L-Carnitine?

Carnitin is a good solution for obesity indeed if you get it before exercises.

What do you think about other remedies for obesity?

Carnitine tek çözüm değil. Bitkisel tedavi iyi bir çözüm olabilir. Yeşil çay benzeri bitkiler bence daha faydalı.

L-Carnite is not an individual solution for such problem. If people continue to unbalanced eating styles, sure that they will continute to get fatter.

Back when I was in the Marine Corps, people used L-carnitine to break down their fat cells which (they said) allowed the THC in their body to leave through thier urine. THC is the thing that shows up on the piss-test for drug use.

Sellers of L-carnitine claim that carnitine helps to burn off fat by moving it into cells called mitochondria. Once fat is inside the mitochondria, it is magically transformed into energy. According to L-Carnitine marketeers carnitine both encourages weight loss and increases energy levels.

Specifically, L-carnitine transports these fatty acids across the membrane of the cell and into the mitochondria, where this burning off then occurs.

There is also some evidence that certain types of obesity may be related to a genetic tendency to produce less carnitine, and that liver and kidney problems will similarly depress the body's production, since approximately four-fifths of our bodies' manufactured L-carnitine is synthesized by these organs.

So if carnitine helps produce energy in the human body, why cant it help with weight loss? Carnitine does transport fatty acids into the mitochondria, but it cannot fetch fat stored in the hips and thighs and tummy and burn it up.

It definitely does not promote weight loss.
Because of this possible link between L-carnitine and athletic performance, a number of carefully-controlled scientific studies were conducted to determine if supplementation with L-carnitine boosts muscle levels of carnitine, and therefore provides athletes with more energy. All these studies found no increase in muscle carnitine levels when athletes took L-carnitine supplements
