Yeah, I know what you're thinking, this stuff never works, does it? But you don't need to buy “magic pills,” or starve yourself to get to the weight you want. You just need to follow some easy steps to lose weight.
First, determine your daily calorie intake. All you need to do to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat. Simple, you may think. And it is, but you need to include everything. Yup, even that tiny weeny slice of pizza you had while finishing off your kid's leftovers, or the chips you ate yesterday. Half the calories often come from things you don't know you've eaten. Then, go over the list and decide which foods to cut out or reduce. For example, that daily tall latte in the morning may give you say, 500 calories. Cut that out, and you've begun your journey to easy weight loss. Also, easy calories that can be removed include salad dressing fizzy drinks, sweets, and butter. Putting butter on potatoes and corn is often unnecessary and contributes to weight gain. Start your day off right by eating breakfast, but not a fattening breakfast of bacon and eggs or a pastry, that can be replaced with yogurt, oatmeal, high-fibre, low-sugar cereals; or fresh fruit or fruit smoothies. Just don't fall into the trap of skipping breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast increases your rest metabolic rate earlier in the day, and reduces snacking before lunch. Eat healthy snacks, like celery (celery is actually a zero calorie food - it takes more energy to eat it than it the celery contains) and don't expect miracles. Just take it easy, and before you know it, the weight will have melted off.
Very sensible advice. We often want instant results and it just doesn't happen that way. I never thought about the things we eat without thinking about it but you're right! It happens so easily.
