Most of us look in the mirror and would like to see a trimmer body looking back. With a zillion new diets on the market, and the constant carbohydrate confusion, it can be hard to find a plan that really works. We have all at one time tried counting our calories or drinking nothing but green tea and cabbage soup for weeks on end, but how can we fight the flab without going insane in the process?
Here are some easy changes you can make to shed those pounds without really trying.
Take Your Time Between Servings
When we eat out, or even when we plan our meals, we often order or prepare several courses at once. The fact is that when we eat, it takes our bodies approximately twenty minutes to inform us that we are full. Therefore, when our entrée arrives five minutes after we finish our starter, we gobble it down because we still think we are hungry. After devouring the entrée we sometimes feel bloated, overfull - not to mention regretful for eating so much food. The point is that if we take some time out between servings, we can determine whether we really need to the next course, and if not, avoid the extra calories that come with it.
Get More Exercise
It sounds incredibly boring, but you don't have to spend every waking second of the day running on a treadmill to see results. The fact is that low-intensity long-duration exercise like walking burns fat more effectively than anything else. So, if you take your dog for a walk, spend time with your children at the local park, or even take the stairs as opposed to the elevator, you are fat burning and also adding definition to your butt muscles in the process!
Get More Sleep
So you love this tip already! Most people do not get the recommended amount of sleep each night. This can lead to strong cravings for starchy carbohydrates all day long. Carbohydrates actually turn to fat if they are not used by the body. One thing to remember, is that despite the fancy name, carbohydrate = sugar. Eating smaller meals more often will keep your metabolism constantly high all day long, and burn calories even whilst you are sitting at your desk. Who doesn't want to burn fat that way?
