Each and every day, many people fight the battle of the bulge around their stomachs. Over the counter pills to help people loose weight sell in the high millions of dollars each year because people want to look slim. They go out and buy these products, which for the most part don't work, and this leaves the people who are over-weight, feeling that they will never beat the battle of the bulge, because their last diet fad didn't work out.
I have a solution to the weight loss problem, and I say this because I tried it, and it really works. You can eat as much as you want, within reason of course, and still loose weight.
Foods to avoid
Donuts, of any kind, pasta eaten in moderation is good for you, but not on a daily basis, unless you are in a high activity program. Foods, that contain Saturated Fats, White and Brown Sugar, and salt. French- fries, hot dogs, rare cooked meats, and fatty Chickens. Cookies such as Mr. Christie cookies, as this particular Manufacturer, cook their cookies, with Saturated fats.
Eat at home as much as you possibly can to avoid Saturated fats, as most fast food eateries don't cook without Saturated fats in the oils they use to cook most of the foods they sell. Do check the labels on everything you buy to see how much Saturated fats are in the product you are about to buy, and look for products that have lesser or no Saturated fats. Mac Donald's is one of the worst offenders, but not the only one, as most fast food places do not use Un-Saturated fats. Butter is also on the list of a food that is high in Saturated fat. Try to avoid butter, by switching to Becel Margarine, as recommended by most doctors and the Canadian Heart Institute.
Here's the easy part
If you can avoid the foods listed above, or can limit them as much as possible, based on that alone you will loose weight, but the clincher is Apples. Apples are very high in fiber and unlike most Cereals who advertise that their products contain fiber; they pale in comparison to eating a few apples a day.
It depends on the size of the apple, but an apple including skin has about 0.7 grams of fiber per ounce. A medium (4.9 oz) apple has 3.3 grams of fiber. Imagine if you eat 3 apples or more per day, the amount of fiber going into your system. Eating apples like this flushes your system, without pills of any kind, and no diet products, that either cost a bundle of money, and rarely work.
I know this, as I am a big eater, though I avoid the foods I listed above, maybe a piece of cake once in awhile, but really, I stick to the non- Saturated foods as much as possible. My wife skins chicken to remove the fats that chickens contain, making them less fatty and putting less fat in our stomachs.
Eat your foods as you would normally, but do include Apples after each meal, and within a certain amount of time, depending on the person's weight and amount of exercise, you do, you will find yourself loosing weight. I can't determine how much weight that anyone can loose, but I can say that for me, apples have proven themselves many times over in helping me maintain, and even loose weight.
Another thing that Apples are very good for is constipation, especially if you have just had an Operation, and have been sent home with pain- killers. Most pain- killers do constipate people. If for example, you just had a Heart Surgery or a Cancer Surgery to name two, you will be given Pain- killers to take home with you, to help you deal with the pain, from your surgery. Apples are the key to avoiding constipation, from drugs that cause constipation. Though Apples do contain sugar, this sugar isn't refined, it's natural sugar, and to prove this point one more time, I'm Diabetic, type 2, though I don't use pills, I'm on Insulin for better control. If I eat one apple per meal, my sugar levels go up by less than one point. I guess that proves my point that eating fatty foods and sugar, do help people to stay fat, and by cutting these foods out of your diet, you will loose weight, and the more exercise you do, the more weight you will loose.
On a closing note:
Never go on any diet without consulting a Doctor first, and that includes any exercise programs that you may want to do. Apples may not be good for you, as they do have a lot of acids in them, so do please check with your family Doctor before eating a ton of apples to get rid of that excess weight you are carrying. Another thing not to do is to think that by eating 3 to 5 apples a day you will suddenly loose weight beyond your wildest dreams. As one Doctor put it to me, you didn't gain your weight over night, don't expect that it's going to go away over-night. Everything takes time, but eating Apples isn't costly and does produce results, if you are patient enough to see those results.
