The Ultimate Tea Diet

A rundown of the benefits of drinking tea, both for health and for weight.

Tea has always been known to have health benefits, whether to comfort a person with a cold or to boost metabolism. Now gaining more public attention from "The Ultimate Tea Diet", a book by Mark Ukra, here's a rundown of what tea can do for you.

Health Benefits

  • Contains antioxidants to fight off cancer-causing free radicals
  • Helps with concentration
  • Makes for healthy teeth by preventing decay
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Can help stop onset of arthritis
  • Slows aging process

Where the Word "Diet" Comes In

Tea contains three ingredients that boost metabolism: Caffeine, L-theanine, and EGCG. Probably the most effective of these three in controlling weight and improving metabolism is EGCG, you may have seen it before on tea product labels. It works to burn fat at a quicker speed than normal. Also, while caffeine may not seem as a benefit to some, the L-theanine actually counteracts the harmful effects of caffeine.

Who is the Ultimate Tea Diet For?

For those who want to lose weight, the Ultimate Tea Diet includes a fourteen day meal plan that focuses on eating low fat and healthy foods in addition to several cups of tea a day. And for those who are not seriously looking to lose weight, but just to eat healthier and feel like they have more energy, the tea diet is beneficial for them as well.

Mark Ukra's book also includes recipes that include tea in them, something for every cook to try. Like all diets, The Ultimate Tea Diet does not just include drinking more tea - it also includes a healthy lifestyle with more exercise. It sounds like a very good plan for anyone. A diet added amounts of tea is relaxing, delicious, and very beneficial.

Green Tea has less caffeine than the femented black tea. It would help if people had longer articles and put more info in them instead of pumping them out leaving much to be desired
