Why We Should Not Skip Meals, Especially Breakfast

Losing weight cannot be achieved overnight. You need to maintain a positive disposition in order to attain what you are aiming. Skipping a meal is not a surefire to lose weight, and can even trigger obesity.

If you put your body in a strict diet to shed off extra pounds, do not punish yourself by starving to death and skip meals. Health professionals argued that it is a bad idea. True enough, because as you skip meals you are most likely to binge on the next meal and eat whatever you find in the table, thus forcing your body to accumulate unwanted calories.

One important reminder is not to skip breakfast. It is the source of energy all day long and helps improve one's mood for the rest of the day. Scientists have known for many generations that eating breakfast helps fuel your day with vigor and alertness and helps brain to function well. Breakfast eaters tend to meet daily recommended target nutrients for the day than those who don't. If you skip breakfast your body may slow its metabolic rate, conserving calories to make it to your next meal. The human body has a recommended dietary allowance every day to function well; skipping breakfast will missed those requirements of the body. Some health experts said that breakfast eaters are less likely to be obese.

One way of losing weight is to lessen carbohydrates and fats intake, whether it's a high carbs or low carbs it was not emphasized. The most important thing to remember is to know the over all number of calories consumed this should be relative to the calories burned. For example, one pound of body fats is equal to 3,500 calories, a better approach, according to Mayo clinic report, is to cut 300 calories from daily meals and do the brisk walk up to 45 minutes a day.

It is a must also not to consume too much coffee and soft drinks while planning a healthy diet, according to a health bulletin. Coffee and soft drinks are both categorized as junk/caffeinated items loaded with calories. A healthy meal should have a quarter of nutrients for the day. The meal comes ideally from the major food groups of grains, dairy, vegetables, fruits, meat and eggs. If you are into cereal, the best preparation is 1 bowl of any cereal product with skimmed milk plus 1 kind of any fruits and 3 slices of wheat bread lathered with honey or topped with a small amount of jam, finished it with a glass of fruit or vegetable juice, then you are on the go for a healthy meal. For snacks alternative, it is better to consume dried prunes or apricot rather than binge on junk foods.

Calories come from four sources: Carbohydrates, fats, protein and alcohol.

A common notion that drinking alcohol can lose weight is a big lie. Alcohol, a poor kind of food, can increase caloric rate and triggers irregularities in the diet. In fact American heart association warned the public from consuming too much alcohol as it contributes to bad health and cardiovascular disease in the future. Carbohydrates, when it reached digestive system, turns into sugar prompting the body to bloat. The best weight-loss plan is to cut calories, according to the information bulletin of Mayo Clinic.
