HBO's smash series "Sex and the City" has definitely marked its spot in modern pop culture -- from its beginnings as realized by novelist Candace Bushnell, to its hit adaptation to the small screen from 1998 to 2004, and finally to a box-office movie recently released this year. The Fab Four's fantabulous lives and stories may only remain in the collective consciousness of its devoted fans, or to a possible unresolved film sequel (or TV comeback, who knows?) in the future... but I bet that these gals are just as real as New York City on the map.
Women of the world, varied and unpredictable, can have a bit of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda or Charlotte in them. So dear reader, try to catch up on your girl -- or yourself! -- as you get a clue on personalities and know the four sides to a story.
(Men are also definitely welcome -- remember an episode where Carrie says... "Men are really just women, with balls!" *wink*)

Carrie: Everybody's Go-To Gal
Carrie is the embodiment of your closest best friend -- one you'd depend on for a long crazy phone chat, drink coffee with, the shoulder to cry on, the ear for all your rants. Mutual respect and tolerance are very important to her.
Samantha: Confidence Personified
Here's one lady full of energy and brimming with confidence. A party wouldn't be a party without Samantha -- she loves to be in the limelight! Mostly in a good mood, she is often popular and welcome as a guest. She likes spontaniety, and is very charming and enthusiastic. However, she tends to be a little erratic and unstable when it comes to obligations and could make her appear to be unreliable to some.
Samanthas love challenges and diverse tasks. She has a keen sense of dealing with people. Her creativity best takes effect when she works independently; but she is very good at motivating others and infecting them with her optimistic nature. Shetackles changes consistently with her firm belief in her abilities; she is always on the look-out for improvement possibilities. Her excellent communication skills are of great advantage.
Samanthas have a large circle of friends but remain noncommittal. Those closest to her know that she is a generous, helpful person who attaches great importance to harmonious friendships. When it really matters, you can rely on her one hundred percent. In relationships, she is very critical and demanding when it comes to picking a partner because she looks for the ideal relationship and have a very concrete picture of this. Mutual aims in life is very important to her. She needs a lot of space and diversity or otherwise she could become bored and feel cramped. If one knows how to understand her character, she can be a loyal and faithful partner.
Miranda: The Pragmatic Realist
Miranda is the "leader" type -- self-assured, independent, realistic. She is smart, witty and eloquent. Very rational and matter-of-fact, she has the ability to assert herself.More reserved people could be turned off by her blunt and direct manner of observation. But if you give her space, she can be a very sociable and cheerful individual.
At work, Mirandas make decisions and take steps quickly -- they have no problem handling several tasks at once and they blossom out in crisis situations! She is not fond of obligations, and is uncomplicated. She does not avoid conflicts and criticism but face up to them. She keeps a clear head even in difficult matters, which make her a good problem-solver. She has a marked sense of reality, and resolves conflicts openly and directly. Sometimes she lacks tact and can be a little insensitive, but is also very good at taking criticism herself.
