Coping with Colostomy

Colostomy is often resorted to after abdominal surgeries that remove portions of the small intestine necessitated by colorectal cancer or conditions such as perforation, obstruction or severe inflammation of the colon. The surgeon may decide, after the removal of part of your colon or rectum, to allow the bowel tissue time to heal before he can sew the two ends together.
