 | | Prescription Medications. Americans taken for a ride. Profit gouging by the American Drug Cartel. | | by Shergill, Sep 22, 2006 | | This article examines the high cost of prescription medications the American Public is having to pay.
The writer is a Lecturer in Health Sciences at Major University, An Asthmatic, and a Registered Nurse in the UK, Australia, US, and Canada. He has lived and worked in all these countries.
Americans are spending 18 % of their GDP on Health Care but have a lower life expectancy than both Canadians and the British who spend less than 10 % of their GDP. Last but not Least, less than 40% of Americans have health insurance compared to 100% of Canadians and 100% of Brits. The achieve this at half the cost the Americans are paying. The Americans spend more, cover less people and have shorter lives but they will tell you that they have the best system in the world. Believe it or not. Just look at the figures. It does not take a scientist to figure this out. | | Comments(1) Liked It: 9 |
