Cheering on Eating Disorders
by texxmezz, Mar 5, 2008
How many times have you cheered on a friend trying to lose weight, even when you knew the methods they were using were dangerous to their health? Marching Into the Peace Corps, Pt 39: Getting Past the Emotional Fat
by texxmezz, Sep 23, 2007
An advertisement and coupon for a national chain specializing in sizes 14 and up came in the mail the other day. Marching Into the Peace Corps, Pt 34: Placing Weight Loss Into Perspective
by texxmezz, Mar 18, 2007
Often when people talk about weight loss, they lose perspective on what it really means. It's so easy to turn to someone and say "I lost X pounds"; instead, put a tangible face on that weight loss and you might find yourself quite surprised!.

by texxmezz, Mar 11, 2007
TV infomercials are "teaching" lessons whether we realize it or not. We're trained to believe we can have six pack abs in six seconds, and now health club chains are following suit by creating the four minute workout

Marching Into the Peace Corps, Pt 32: More Lies Infomercials Tell
by texxmezz, Mar 7, 2007
Infomercials have invaded the TV and are not going away, so you better get used to the slick, sexy pitches that are well designed to say what you want to hear to get you to part with your cash. Can you reshape your body in as little as 18-20 minutes as Michael Thurmond would have you believe? It sounds great, but is he telling you the whole truth, or only part of it?
